Matson Ground Estate Company Ltd wish to make your stay at one of our Matson Ground Holiday Cottages as enjoyable as possible. We aim to describe the practical layout of your accommodation, giving you the confidence to make the best of your time in the Lakes.

Matson Ground Lodge sleeps four. Approximately one mile from Bowness-on-Windermere the property is accessed via Helm Road from Bowness. Please note this is a steep road. 

PLEASE NOTE THAT MATSON GROUND LODGE IS AN OLD BUILDING WITH A NARROW STAIRCASE, AND CHANGES IN FLOOR LEVEL. THIS PROPERTY HAS A WOODBURNING STOVE. 

This property is not suitable for guests who require a wheelchair or for those who have restricted mobility. Young children and elderly guests should take extra care and be suitably supervised. 

 

• Parking for two cars on a level gravel driveway adjacent to the property.
• Three steps down and sloped access to the front door.
• Step up access directly into the hallway on the upper ground floor.
• Level access to sitting room, bathroom, and bedrooms.
• Sitting room has a woodburning stove.
• Narrow staircase down to the lower ground floor with carpet runner and sturdy handrail.
• Fixed stairgate at the top of the staircase.
• Open plan kitchen and dining area on lower ground floor
• Steps up to small utility area and WC.
• Step down access out of the rear door to the terrace and sloped garden.
• Side access to the parking area with a sloped path and steps up.
• There is no landline at this property, but mobile reception is good on most network
• Pets are welcome at this property.
• Dogs should be supervised at all times in the garden.

Arrival
Check-in is from 4pm on the day of your arrival.

On booking, you will be sent our Touchstay guidebook which can be received via text message or email. We encourage you to read this carefully. The guidebook can be downloaded onto your phone for access prior to and throughout your stay. It contains a wealth of information including directions to the property, wifi codes, important contact numbers, places to eat or visit during your stay and other tips from how to light the woodburning stoves to information about the nearest medical centre, local transport and local supermarkets.

Access to your accommodation is by key which is stored in a keysafe lockbox outside the door of your holiday cottage. Please call our housekeepers on 01539 729602 at least two days before your stay to get the unique code to your accommodation keysafe. The housekeeper will also check details about your stay and ensure everything is ready for your arrival.

Departure
We ask that you vacate your holiday cottage by 10am on the day of departure.

Please check you have all your belongings. If you leave an item behind please call us on 01539 445756 and we will endeavour to find it. If the item can be returned, we will do this but there may be a charge for post and packing.

Please leave the key in the keysafe lock box and ensure that the property is secure before your departure. Please check all windows are closed paying particular attention to any rooflights or velux windows. We wish you a safe journey home and hope to see you again at a Matson Ground Holiday Cottage.
