Windermere:
Our Windermere holiday cottages offer beautiful local walks, niche shopping and great restaurants. It has many unique attractions and is walking distance from Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria’s most popular destination because of it’s lakeside position.
Ullswater:
One of our Ullswater holiday cottages is in Glenridding, a long established village located on the southern end of Ullswater. Glenridding is known as the starting point for the main Helvellyn climb and has a rich history associated with the famous mountain. It’s a tourist hub that attracts people from far and wide to see the Lake District at its best and most natural. It also offers great boat hiring facilities and is a short drive away from the iconic Aira Force waterfall.
Check out our reviews.
Attractions:
Windermere has a popular walk, from the top of the town, up a small fell called Orrest Head that has great views over Lake Windermere and the other peaks.
Windermere is a thirty minute walk (under five minute drive) from Bowness-on-Windermere. Bowness is in a stunning location and offers attractions like the World of Beatrix Potter, boat hire, superb shopping, great restaurants and the Old Laundry Theatre.
Glenridding, as mentioned earlier, is a short drive from Aira Force, a spectacular sixty foot waterfall. It also offers traditional pubs that often have live music from local bands or artists.
Glenridding is also close to Glencoyne Bay where you can find the daffodils that inspired William Wordsworth.
