Elm How is a lovely old farmhouse, located about 1.5 miles from Patterdale, near Ullswater. It is a spacious 4 star dog friendly holiday cottage sleeping 8. It has a stone circular staircase, a very large living room with a log-burning stove, a smaller sitting room and a large kitchen with dining area.
Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms : 2 double rooms and two twin-bedded rooms. One of the double rooms can be connected to the shower room as an ensuite. In the main bathroom there is a bath and separate large shower cubicle. Downstairs there is another wc and a separate utility room with washer and tumble dryer.
There is a CD player. Please note that although there is a TV and DVD there is no TV reception.
The kitchen has an electric range cooker, larder fridge, microwave, dishwasher and freezer.
There is a cot and a high-chair and extras can be provided if requested.
Central heating is provided by a water source heat pump, and there is a wood burning stove, with firewood provided on arrival.
We do accept dogs. Please be aware this a working farm and we require all dogs to be under close control.
Mobile phone reception is poor at Elm How, but improves slightly as you go up the valley. There is good reception in Patterdale. There is a phone in the house for urgent calls.
Access to Elm How is by a single track unpaved gated road, about a mile long, and 1.5 miles from Patterdale.
Elm How lies adjacent to one of the main footpaths to Helvellyn and Fairfield and is an ideal base for walking. There are low level walks from the door. Please see the location below.
